Alsum Named Wisconsin Star in Agricultural Placement Finalist

June 16, 2022 Star Award

Colton Alsum of the Randolph Cambria Friesland FFA is a Wisconsin Star in Agricultural Placement finalist.

The Star in Agricultural Placement award is given to students that are working in a variety of job opportunities in the agricultural industry.

Colton is employed at D&D Lawn Care, LLC, a large lawn and landscaping company who serves over 150 clients. Colton works independently to accomplish tasks such as weeding, edging sidewalks, using the leaf blower on sidewalks, mowing both with a push mower and zero turn mowers, and all components of fall and spring lawn clean-up. In the winter, Colton drives salt trucks and plows snow for D&D lawn care, often working fifteen hour days when the snow is heavy and school is called off. Additionally, Colton earned his private applicator license this past year and took his commercial applicator exam this March.

Colton’s parents are Darren and Jerilyn Alsum. His advisors are Keith Gundlach, Stephanie DeVries, and Lauren Frances.
