Beining Wins Wisconsin FFA Poultry Production Award

June 14, 2022 Proficiency

The 2022 Poultry Production Proficiency winner is Faith Beining of the Marshfield FFA. The Poultry Production Proficiency is sponsored by Pilgrim’s and Louis & Sandra Arrington Endowment.

As her interest in the poultry industry grew, so did Faith’s flock. By the summer of her 6th grade, Faith owned a flock of 60 chickens and sold eggs to the local community. Starting her 8th grade year, Faith realized the importance of minimizing production costs and worked with the local cooperative to find a nutrition filled feed that lowers costs, without hurting egg quality and production. Since 2017, Faith has doubled her customer base and looks forward to further expansion in the future.

Faith’s advisors are Tim Heeg and Mark Zee.

We would like to recognize the state finalists in Poultry Production:

Second: Bryce Grossen, Monroe

Third: Cameron Pokorny, Waupun

Fourth: Micheal Philipps, Bloomer

Fifth: Ben McMeeken, Slinger

Beining will find out this summer if she selected as one of four national finalists. If selected, Faith will compete at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Ind., in October.
