MADISON, Wis. – The Brillion FFA Chapter was named the state winning Poultry Career Development Event Team. Team members include Ethan Hoyer, Alex Vandehey, Logan Schmidt and Jacob Fischer. Their advisor is Valerie Berend. The top individual was Brandon Boyd of the Watertown FFA. His advisors are Mike Gross and Alicia Schultz.

Participants in the Poultry Evaluation CDE select live meat-type chickens for broiler breeding, evaluate and place live egg-type hens, and rate the finished product by evaluating and grading ready-to-cook carcasses and parts of chickens and turkeys.

Brillion will now represent Wisconsin FFA in competition at the National FFA Career Development Events to be held in October in Indianapolis, Indiana during the 95th National FFA Convention. The Poultry CDE is sponsored on the state level by the Wisconsin FFA Foundation Annual Fund. The National sponsor is the U.S. Poultry & Egg Association.
