Domine Wins Wisconsin FFA Forest Management Award

June 14, 2022 Proficiency

The 2022 Winner in Forest Management is Karter Domine of the Cochrane-Fountain City FFA. The Forest Management Proficiency is sponsored by Kalscheur Fondation.

Karter works on his parent’s tree farm in Buffalo County. He is in charge of managing the growth and value of trees on their 160 acre farm, including pines, oaks, hickories, and walnuts. Karter not only helps manage the existing trees, but maintains the equipment such as chainsaws, tractors, and ATVs.

His advisors are Deanna Wiersgalla and Christine Jumbeck.

We would like to recognize the state finalists in Forest Management:

Second: Brayden Grimm, Weyauwega-Fremont

Third: Matthew Vosberg, Spooner

Fourth: Zachary Pieper, Bloomer

Domine will find out this summer if he is selected as one of four national finalists. If selected, Karter will compete at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Ind., in October.
