Duch Wins Wisconsin FFA Beef Production – Placement Award

June 14, 2022 Proficiency

The 2022 Beef Production – Placement Proficiency Winner is Claire Duch of the New London FFA. The Beef Production – Placement Proficiency is sponsored by American Foods Group.

Claire began her SAE a few years ago when she started working at her family’s beef farm. She spent a great deal of time in the barn cleaning pens, working with cattle for sales, and keeping accurate health records. Now, Claire is involved in every facet of the operation, from mixing feed rations, watching for heat cycles, and overseeing the health of newborn calves.

Claire’s advisor is Crystal Retzlaff.

We would like to recognize the state finalists in Beef Production – Placement:

Second: Brooke Luedtke, Pardeeville

Third: Morgan Firlus, Mauston

Fourth: Yitta Sina, Ripon

Fifth: Ashley Johnson, Weyauwega-Fremont

Duch will find out this summer if she is selected as one of four national finalists. If selected, Claire will compete at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Ind., in October.
