Grimm Wins Wisconsin FFA Forest Management Proficiency

June 16, 2023 Proficiency

The 2023 Winner in Forest Management is Brayden Grimm of the Weyauwega – Fremont FFA. This proficiency is sponsored by the Wisconsin FFA Convention Partners.

Brayden’s SAE started at home with him splitting, stacking, and running the chainsaw for his own family to be able to have wood to use in their heater. Brayden’s enjoyment of the task led to his employment with Mid – State Tree Service. Within his job, his responsibilities included sorting, splitting, and racking kiln – dried wood in order to prepare it for bundling. Through his work experience, Brayden has learned how to cut consistent and high quality pieces that can be sold across the country.

Brayden’s advisors are Sandra Dykes and Connie Peterson.

We would like to recognize the state finalists in Grain Production:

Second: Braden Heath, Mauston

Grimm will find out this summer if he is selected as one of four national finalists. If selected, Brayden will compete at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Ind., in November.
