Hopke named Wisconsin Star in Agribusiness Finalist

June 16, 2022 Star Award

Isaac Hopke of the Spooner FFA is a Wisconsin Star in Agribusiness Finalist.

The Star in Agribusiness award recognizes students who have taken their spirit for entrepreneurship and developed their own Agricultural business.

After landscaping for his family home and working for a local landscaping company, Isaac saw an opportunity to start his own business. He began his own lawn care business, which includes mowing and landscaping jobs. He quickly built a list of spring and fall lawn clean up customers, as well as a full schedule of summer lawn mowing and landscaping projects. Isaac develops management plans for lawns to keep them in prime condition. In addition, he has been able to work with lakeshore property, which has taught him more about working with native plants and managing lawns within watersheds.

Isaac hopes to pair his passions for aerospace engineering and agriculture in his career. His long term plans are to return home to maintain a sustainable farm with his brother.

Isaac’s parents are Pete and Danette Hopke. His advisor is Susan Olson-Rosenbush.
