Kiel FFA Wins State Agricultural Technology and Mechanical Systems Career Development Event

June 3, 2022 CDE

MADISON, Wis. – The Kiel FFA Chapter was named the state winning Agricultural Technology and Mechanical Systems Career Development Event Team. Team members include Ethan Joas, Marshal Braunn, Ty Sheets and Dom Sheets. Their advisors are Erica Eickert and David Friend. Isaac Welle from the Bloomer FFA was named the top individual. His advisors are Racheal Haas, Jackie Johnson and Darren Swartz.

The event is built around students learning and executing a “systems approach” – or the process of understanding how solving one problem influences others.

Kiel will now represent Wisconsin FFA in competition at the National FFA Career Development Events to be held in October in Indianapolis, Indiana during the 95th National FFA Convention. The Agricultural Technology and Mechanical Systems Contest is sponsored on the state level by United Cooperative. The National sponsors are Association of Equipment Manufacturers, Caterpillar, Darling Ingredients Inc., Firestone Ag and U.S. Poultry & Egg Association.

Through the Agricultural Technology and Mechanical Systems Contest, students develop technical knowledge and an ability to work with others to solve complex problems. All Career Development Events engage students in developing their communication, decision-making and teamwork skills to promote future career success.
