Koerner Wins Wisconsin FFA Food Service Award

June 14, 2022 Proficiency

The 2022 Winner in Food Service is Henry Koerner of the Big Foot FFA. The Food Service Proficiency is sponsored by Section 8 FFA Alumni Affiliates and Seneca Foods Corporation.

Henry holds multiple positions working with food services and products with jobs at the Big Foot Country Club, Daniel’s Foods Sentry, and the Ten Pin Pub. When he first started his roles at these workplaces, Henry’s main responsibilities included washing dishes and cleaning parts of the kitchen. Now, Henry is a main cook at the Ten Pin Pub, an official line cook for the Big Foot Country Club, and a main prep cook at Daniel’s Foods Sentry. These roles hold an immense role in prepping and preparing food such as desserts, hamburgers, soups, and a variety of other entries that guests will enjoy eating.

His advisor is Lisa Konkel.

We would like to recognize the state finalists in Food Service:

Second: Gina Sokup, Stanley Boyd

Third: Issabella Green, Stanley Boyd

Fourth: Samantha Horning, Waupun

Fifth: Ashley Warren, Weyauwega-Fremont

Koerner will find out this summer if he is selected as one of four national finalists. If selected, Henry will compete at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Ind., in October.
