The 2023 Winner in Small Animal Production and Care is Jolie Kulinski of the Random Lake FFA. This proficiency is sponsored by MAI Animal Health.
Growing up surrounded by dogs sparked an interest in Jolie that ultimately led her to working at Krystal Creek Kennels. In her role as a kennel attendant, Jolie’s responsibilities include daily care of the dogs with tasks such as feeding, walking, bathing, and keeping facilities clean. Additionally, Jolie has learned valuable knowledge on dog’s health such as what the color of a dog’s tongue means and how to administer medications. By being observant, and knowing normal versus abnormal behavior, Jolie ensures that the dogs under her care, always receive the attention they need.
Jolie’s advisor is Whitney Rathke.
We would like to recognize the state finalists in Small Animal Production and Care:
Second: Sylvia Durrant, Pittsville
Third: Ashlyn Clatt, Whitehall
Fourth: Natalie Thompson, Edgar
Fifth: Jessica Lindow, Marshfield
Kulinaki will find out this summer if she is selected as one of four national finalists. If selected, Jolie’s will compete at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Ind., in November.
