The Marshfield FFA Chapter was named the state winning Dairy Cattle Evaluation & Management Career Development Event Team. Team members include Emma Bangart, Wyatt Dorshorst, Faith Beining, and Sara Dorshorst. Their advisors are Tim Heeg and Mark Zee. Brady Bleck from the Plymouth FFA was named the top individual. His advisors are Tracy Heinbuch and Katelynn Sibley

Participants of this contest judge six classes of dairy cattle, present oral reasons, evaluate pedigrees, complete a linear evaluation of five dairy cattle, and engage in sire selection.

Marshfield will now represent Wisconsin FFA in competition at the National FFA Career Development Events to be held in October in Indianapolis, Indiana during the 95th National FFA Convention. The Dairy Cattle Evaluation CDE is sponsored on the state level by Associated Milk Producers, Inc. and the FarmFirst Dairy Cooperative. The National sponsor is Allflex Livestock Intelligence.

The Dairy Cattle Evaluation & Management Contest helps develop skills in dairy cattle selection and herd management within its competitors. All Career Development Events engage students in developing their communication, decision-making, and teamwork skills to promote future career success.
