The Mauston FFA Chapter was named the state winning Livestock Evaluation Career Development Event Team. Team members include Ethan Lulich, Morgan Firlus, Mariah Schwartz and Tyler Schwartz. Their advisor is Elizabeth Babcock. Additionally, Ethan Lulich was the top individual. 

During the Livestock Evaluation Career Development Event, students rank breeding and market classes of beef, sheep, goats and swine and give oral reasons to back up their decisions. Students participating in this CDE make accurate observations of livestock, decide on the desirable traits in marketing and breeding livestock, and select market livestock that will satisfy consumer demands and provide increased economic returns to produce. 

Mauston will now represent Wisconsin FFA in competition at the National FFA Career Development Events to be held in November in Indianapolis, Indiana during the 96th National FFA Convention. The Livestock Evaluation CDE is sponsored on the state level by the Wisconsin National Farmers Organization. The National sponsor is Merck Animal Health.
