Meylor Wins Wisconsin FFA Diversified Crop Production Placement

June 16, 2023 Proficiency

The 2023 Winner in Diversified Crop Production – Placement  is Issac Meylor of the Darlington FFA. This proficiency is sponsored by Wisconsin FFA Convention Partners.

Since a young age, Isaac has been helping to run his family’s crop farm, where they have 4,000 acres of corn, 1,500 acres of soybeans, 100 acres of oats, and 200 acres of hay. When Isaac first started running machinery, as a pre – teen his responsibility was to run the manure spreader. Now, Isaac is involved in almost every aspect of the process from planting to harvest with some of his roles being planting beans, running the silage truck, and chopping hay. Additionally, Isaac and his family use conservation efforts including no till, contour farming, and precision farming to utilize their land to its full capacity, while maintaining it for the future.

Isaac’s advisors are Troy Lobdell and Justin Doyle.

We would like to recognize the state finalists in Crop Production :

Second: Brandon Boyd, Watertown

Third: Faustina Thomas, Granton

Fourth: Calan Meylor, Darlington

Fifth: Cade Peterson, Union Grove

Meylor will find out this summer if he is selected as one of four national finalists. If selected, Issac will compete at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Ind., in November.
