MADISON, Wis. – The Mineral Point FFA Chapter was named the state winning Livestock Evaluation Career Development Event Team. Team members include Cameron Patterson, Ellie Robinson, Emma Steffes and Luke Schubert. Their advisor is Michael Robinson. Cora Capatske from the Ellsworth FFA was the top individual. Her advisor is Katie Christenson.

During the Livestock Evaluation Career Development Event, students rank breeding and market classes of beef, sheep, swine and goats and give oral reasons to back up their decisions.

Mineral Point will now represent Wisconsin FFA in competition at the National FFA Career Development Events to be held in October in Indianapolis, Indiana during the 95th National FFA Convention. The Livestock Evaluation CDE is sponsored on the state level by the Wisconsin FFA Foundation Annual Fund. The National sponsor is Merck Animal Health.

All Career Development Events engage students in developing their communication, decision-making and teamwork skills to promote future career success.
