The 2023 Winner in Organic Agriculture is Lindsey Montgomery of the Waupaca FFA Chapter. This proficiency is sponsored by Organic Valley/CROPP Cooperative, Inc..

Since 2017, Lindsey has worked at Einsentraut Farms, an 140 cow organic dairy. On the farm, Lindsey’s responsibilities include scrapping the holding area, milking cows, cleaning the parlor, and feeding calves. Throughout time, Lindsey’s role has continued to expand, as she is now responsible for training new employees on proper milking procedures and assisting in providing basic animal healthcare through organically approved methods.

Lindsey’s advisors are Hannah Whipple and Bobbie Jo Montgomery.

Third: Abby Walz, Wisconsin Heights

Montgomery will find out this summer if she is selected as one of four national finalists. If selected, Lindsey will compete at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Ind., in November.
