Montgomery Wins Wisconsin FFA Sheep Production Award

June 14, 2022 Proficiency

The 2022 Sheep Production proficiency winner is Lindsey Montgomery of the Waupaca FFA. The Sheep Production Proficiency is sponsored by Big Sky Suffolks.

Lindsey’s interest in the sheep industry was motivated by her sister who showed sheep and worked at Erb N’ Livestock. Joining the crew, Lindsey’s responsibilities at Erb N’ Livestock include feeding, clipping, and exhibiting market lambs. As a future animal nutritionist, Lindsey continues to intentionally seek out learning opportunities with other sheep producers and nutritional specialists to improve her herd.

Lindsey’s advisors are Bobbie Jo Montgomery and Hannah Waldron.

We would like to recognize the state finalists in Sheep Production:

Second: Jessica Lindow, Marshfield

Third: Ashley Johnson, Weyauwega-Fremont

Fourth: Libby Hasheider, Sauk Prairie

Fifth: Ashley Strupp, Hartford

Montgomery will find out this summer if she is selected as one of four national finalists. If selected, Lindsey will compete at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Ind., in October.
