The 2023 Winner in Diversified Horticulture is Brooke Mullen of the Seymour FFA. This Proficiency is sponsored by the Amherst FFA Alumni.
For the past three years, Brooke has worked at Kailhofer’s Greenhouse and Flowers. Brooke’s job consists of a variety of different roles relating to the business such as assisting with nursery and greenhouse operations, working in the floral shop, aiding in the management of the store landscape, helping with customer service, and much more. Through her SAE, Brooke has been able to increase her knowledge of the horticulture industry specifically in areas of plant systems, floral design elements, greenhouse maintenance and plant care.
Brooke’s advisor is Aaron Kilsdonk.

Mullen will find out this summer if she is selected as one of four national finalists. If selected, Brooke will compete at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Ind., in November.
