MADISON, Wis. – The New London FFA Chapter was named the state winning Farm & Agribusiness Management Career Development Event Team. Team members include Abigail Weyland, Lora Korth, Hanna Gorman and Owen Margita. Their advisor is Crystal Retzlaff. The top individual was Mason Markham of the Elkhorn FFA. His advisors are Bailey Hart, Alex Hutson and David Kruse.

By competing, participants demonstrate their ability to analyze agricultural business management information, apply economic principles and concepts of business management, evaluate business management decisions and work together cooperatively as a team.

New London will now represent Wisconsin FFA in competition at the National FFA Career Development Events to be held in October in Indianapolis, Indiana during the 95th National FFA Convention. The Farm & Agribusiness Management CDE is sponsored on the state level by GROWMARK, Inc. The National sponsors are NAU Country, John Deere and Bayer.

The Farm and Agribusiness Management Career Development Event helps students learn business skills and apply economic principles to agricultural businesses. All CDEs engage students in developing their communication, decision-making and teamwork skills to promote future career success.
