The 2022 Agricultural Mechanics Repair & Maintenance – Placement proficiency winner is Joseph Robinson of the Mineral Point FFA. The Agricultural Mechanics Repair & Maintenance – Placement proficiency is sponsored by Sloan Implement Company, Inc.

Joseph’s SAE began when he purchased his grandpa’s 1953 John Deere model 50 tractor. While working on the tractor, Joseph became interested in understanding the way machinery works. Joseph was able to advance his SAE by working at DJ Enterprises, a mechanics shop that specializes in Pre-DEF John Deere tractors. Because of Joseph’s experiences and growth of knowledge, he has started going on service calls to fix tractors for DJ Enterprises.

Robinson will find out this summer if he is selected as one of four national finalists. If selected, Joseph will compete at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Ind., in October.
