Sharon and Jerry Wendt Inducted into Blue & Gold Society

June 27, 2022 Adult Recognition

The Wisconsin FFA Foundation Blue & Gold Society is composed of individuals and families who generously demonstrated financial support of Wisconsin FFA members and programs. Through a gift, pledge, or planned gift of $15,000 or more to the Foundation over a period of one to three years, all are invited to join this prestigious society of benefactors.

New Blue & Gold Society members are welcomed and celebrated annually during the Wisconsin FFA Convention each June.

At the 93rd State FFA Convention, Sharon and Jerry Wendt were officially inducted into the Blue & Gold Society.

Growing up in Waukesha County on his family’s farm, Jerry was no stranger to the hard work and dedication it takes to make a farm run successfully. He continued his love for agriculture through his career as he spent over 30 years teaching agriculture education in Kiel and Stoughton before retiring.

During his teaching career, he met his wonderful wife, Sharon, when she was the ag educator at Mishicot. Long story short, they fell in love and relocated after getting married. Not long after, Mrs. Wendt was trailblazing as she became the first female Wisconsin FFA Advisor, and is now the Director of Career and Technical Education at the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

We are grateful for their decision to be part of the Blue & Gold Society where we are able to continue nurturing the talent and future of youth interested in agriculture and leadership development.
