MADISON, Wis. – The Sun Prairie FFA Chapter was named the state winning Environmental and Natural Resources Career Development Event Team. Team members include Emma Washington, Jackson Nesbit, Daniel Reid, and Logan Culbertson. Their advisors are Jenny Herman, Krist Kvalheim and Rodney Osterhaus. Kylie Lieven from the Slinger FFA was the top individual. Her advisor is Katelyn Dei.

The Environmental and Natural Resources Career Development Event provides competing students an opportunity to gain awareness and demonstrate knowledge in areas that affect our air, soil and water. Competitors interpret data, use measuring devices in the field and work through real-life scenarios involving environmental threats.

Sun Prairie will now represent Wisconsin FFA in competition at the National FFA Career Development Events to be held in October in Indianapolis, Indiana during the 95th National FFA Convention. The Environmental Science CDE is sponsored on the state level by the Wisconsin FFA Foundation Annual Fund.The National sponsors are Wrangler and USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service.
