The 2022 Winner in Fruit Production is David Tisch of the Pecatonica FFA. The Fruit Production Proficiency is sponsored by MinnTex Citrus, Inc of Iowa.

David works at Munchkey Apples, assisting with the planting and care of over 8,800 apple trees. Through his SAE, he has learned about business management, planting, installing irrigation and trellis systems. He also assists with thinning of the crop where necessary and running the picking crew during fall harvest.

His advisor is Melissa Leonard-Flannery.

Tisch will find out this summer if he selected as one of four national finalists. If selected, David will compete at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Ind., in October.
