Volck Wins Wisconsin FFA Agricultural Mechanics Repair & Maintenance – Placement Proficiency

June 16, 2023 Proficiency

The 2023 Agricultural Mechanics Repair & Maintenance – Placement proficiency winner is Carter Volck of the Lake Geneva Badger FFA. This proficiency is sponsored by Case IH.

Carter works at Crane Grain Farms as a mechanic apprentice to the head mechanic. Within this role, Carter’s responsibilities include running the silage wagons during corn chopping season and providing repairs and general maintenance to the agricultural vehicles and equipment of the farm. Carter’s job at Crane Grain Farms has allowed him to gain confidence in his abilities, find an area that he is passionate about, and gain more knowledge in the field of Agricultural Mechanics.

Carter’s advisors are Candice Franks, Jeff Neuser and Anna Luna.

We would like to recognize the state finalists in Agricultural Mechanics Repair & Maintence Placement:

Second: Brayden Grimm, Weyauwega – Fremont

Third: Josh Lindow, Marshfield

Fourth: Josh Conant, Stoughton

Fifth: Mason Quade, Turtle Lake

Volck will find out this summer if he is selected as one of four national finalists. If selected, Carter will compete at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Ind., in November.
