Walter Named Wisconsin Star in Agricultural Placement Finalist

June 16, 2022 Star Award

Megan Walter of the Granton FFA is a Wisconsin Star in Agricultural Placement finalist.

The Star in Agricultural Placement award is given to students that are working in a variety of job opportunities in the agricultural industry.

Starting at a young age, Megan has been assisting on her family’s farm and has had an interest in animals. At the beginning, she started off feeding calves and scraping the milking area. Her role has expanded since then, as she is now responsible for milking, feeding, administering vaccinations, dehorning, castrating, and even helping select bulls to use for breeding. Furthermore, Megan is involved in almost all components of care for the beef, sheep, and hogs that her family’s farm raises.

Megan will be attending UW-Stout this fall to major in Psychology and Social Work and in hopes to use in a future career to help those in need.

Magan’s parents are Jim and Coroline Walter. Her advisor is Ms. Katie Reider.
