The Lake Geneva-Badger FFA Chapter was named the state winning Floriculture Career Development Event Team. Team members include Emma Wokasch, Paige Foley, Kylie Kundert, and Breanne Carr. Their advisors are Candice Franks, Jeff Neuser and Anna Luna. Additionally, the top individual was Emma Wokasch.

The Floriculture Career Development Event requires students to identify plants, judge flower arrangement, and solve problems. Additionally, participants demonstrate skills in flower arrangement, propagation, and the preparation of floral and foliage products for sale.

Lake Geneva-Badger will now represent Wisconsin FFA in competition at the National FFA Career Development Events to be held in November in Indianapolis, Indiana during the 96th National FFA Convention. The Floriculture Career Development Event is sponsored on the state level by Wisconsin FFA Convention Partners. The National sponsor is Fifth Third Bank.

This event builds skills that are important to careers in greenhouse and field production, garden center, floral shop and design management. All CDEs engage students in developing their communication, decision-making, and teamwork skills to promote future career success.
