Branville Named Wisconsin Star in Agricultural Placement Finalist

June 16, 2022 Star Award

Lane Branville of the New Auburn FFA is a Wisconsin Star in Agricultural Placement finalist.

The Star in Agricultural Placement award is given to students that are working in a variety of job opportunities in the agricultural industry.

Lane works on a farm with 250 beef and 350 dairy cows. In addition, Lane operates heavy equipment on the farm. His responsibilities include feeding cows and calves, bedding, mixing feed, and cleaning out barns. In the spring and fall, during planting and harvest season, Lane assists with field work, including using the Sulford with a no-till system to stir the cornstalk layer to allow for easier drilling of soybeans or operating the grain cart.

In the future, Lane plans to attend an apprenticeship program for heavy equipment operation through the Wisconsin Operator’s Engineers.

Lane’s parents are Matthew Branville and Hedi Brown. His advisor is Brenda Scheil.
