The Granton FFA Chapter was named the state winning Agricultural Communications Career Development Event Team. Team members include Lizzy Reinart, Jordan Berg, Tori Seif, and Kennedy Young. Their advisor is Katie Reider. The top individual was Paige Russell of the Shullsburg FFA. Her advisor is Jennifer Russell.

Through this contest, participants work as a team of communication consultants to develop a written media plan, present the plan to a panel of judges, and as individuals, apply what they have learned during practicums, a quiz, and editing exercise.

Granton will now represent Wisconsin FFA in competition at the National FFA Career Development Events to be held in November in Indianapolis, Indiana during the 96th National FFA Convention. The Agricultural Communications CDE is sponsored at the state level by United Cooperative. The National sponsors are OsbornBarr and Bayer.

The Agricultural Communications Career Development Events help students prepare for careers in journalism, radio and TV broadcast, web design, marketing and more. All CDEs engage students in developing their communication, decision-making, and teamwork skills to promote future career success.
