Jentges Elected To Serve Wisconsin Association of FFA

June 15, 2023 State Officer

Nine State FFA Officer during the 94th Wisconsin FFA Convention. Her advisor is Whitney Rathke. Amy’s parents are Margaret and the late Gary Jentges.

Jentges is currently enrolled at the University of Wisconsin—River Falls, where she is studying agricultural education. She plans to become an agricultural education teacher in Wisconsin or Minnesota following graduation and hopes to remain active in the livestock showing industry, thanks in part of her diverse supervised agricultural experience projects. Her program includes working in agricultural education and communications, as well as raising and showing 8 dairy steers and 6 swine each year.

An active FFA member, Amy participated in 5 different leadership development events through high school, culminating in an eighth-place finish at the national level in Employment Skills. She also served as a chapter officer and committee chair throughout school, and participated in numerous leadership and career development opportunities. At UW-River Falls she remains active in Agricultural Education Society, Farm Bureau, Dairy Club, and Block and Bridle. Jentges also highlights her participation in the Wisconsin Show Pig Association and 4H.

Amy hopes that through her year of service, she can be a person that “inspires, encourages, and believes in others. A person who cultivates connections… and serves, supports, empowers, promotes and advocates for the future of agriculture.”
