Ava Johnson of the Weyauwega – Fremont FFA is a Wisconsin Star in Agricultural Placement finalist.
Ava works on her family’s farm where she helps to manage the 121 acres of land and the animals that they have, which include sheep, beef, mules, horses, and dogs. When Ava was young, her roles were smaller, such as cleaning out the trailer, cutting wood, and assisting her dad with his tasks. When her family started their flock when she was 10, Ava’s interest in the farm came to fruition because of her love for sheep. Ava’s responsibilities have expanded from there, now including field work, training her livestock and horses for shows and rodeos, and developing nutrient plans for each animal to name a few.
This fall, Ava will be continuing her studies at Fox Valley Technical College, where she will major in Agribusiness and Science – Technology.
Ava’s parents are Charles and Charene Johnson. Her advisors are Sandra Dykes and Connie Peterson.
