Lenz Elected To Serve Wisconsin Association of FFA

June 15, 2023 State Officer

Julia Lenz of the Markesan FFA Chapter was elected to a year of service as the 2023-2024 Section Six State FFA Officer during the 94th Wisconsin FFA Convention. Her advisor is Dean Slark. Julia’s parents are Wade and Kelsey Lenz.

The 2023 graduate intends to study at Concordia University Wisconsin, pursuing a degree in elementary education. She hopes to become the kind of teacher who helps ensure all her students are able to achieve their goals while maintaining involvement in youth athletics, the FFA and the FFA alumni.

During her FFA career, Julia has cultivated a supervised agricultural experience program focused on swine production, raising 5-8 head each year and showing her animals while also managing their day-to-day care. Lenz also served as her chapter treasurer and president, the chair of their Food for America program, and participated in numerous local and State FFA activities from donkey basketball to fruit sale to June Dairy Days. Lenz was also a three-sport athlete and attended Badger Girls as a state delegate.

“I genuinely believe that FFA influences and inspires some of the best leaders,” says Julia, also stating that she herself is “not ready to be done promoting and advocating for the agriculture industry and its members”. Lenz will spend her year of service doing just that, while encouraging others to do the same.
