Lulich Named Wisconsin Star Farmer Finalist

June 15, 2023 Star Award

Ethan Lulich of the Mauston FFA is a Wisconsin Star Farmer finalist.

For the past seven years, Ethan has focused on raising top-quality show cattle. Ethan makes breeding choices and chooses genetics to develop a stout structure, good hair growth and high muscle development in his cattle. Additionally, Ethan has created a high energy feed ration that is specific to each heifer and steer he owns, which allows him to attain different attributes during their growing periods. Ethan syncs the breeding cycles of his herd to ensure that he will have early spring calves that are ready for fall sales. Ethan has built a name for himself in the livestock industry through his success in the show ring. He even sells calves to other youth exhibitors and mentors them as they begin their projects. With his dedication to his cattle, Ethan has been able to expand his herd from one steer and one heifer to 26 top-quality beef cattle.

This fall, Ethan will attend Kansas State University, where he will be majoring in agricultural business.

Ethan’s parents are David and Lori Lulich. His advisor is Beth Babcock.
