Menomonie Wins State FFA Parliamentary Procedure Contest

June 14, 2022 LDE

The Menomonie FFA Chapter was named the winner of the state FFA Parliamentary Procedure contest at the 93rd Wisconsin FFA Convention in Madison, WI. The Menomonie FFA advisor is Jean D’Angelo.

Menomonie will represent Wisconsin at the 95th National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana this October. The national winner will be selected from a group of state finalists and will receive a plaque and additional scholarship money.

The Parliamentary Procedure Contest builds leadership and increases the knowledge of proper parliamentary procedure. The parliamentary procedure team, consisting of six members, have eleven minutes to demonstrate “parliamentary abilities” while discussing the topic given to them by the judges. The team is then asked questions testing their knowledge of parliamentary procedure.

The other finalists were:

2nd Place: Shullsburg FFA

3rd Place: New London FFA

4th Place: Marshfield FFA

The De Forest FFA Alumni, Kim & Leona Havens Endowment and Dr. Gerald R. Matteson Endowment sponsors the Parliamentary Procedure award program on the state level.
