Cole Pederson of the New Auburn FFA is a Wisconsin Star in Agriscience Finalist.

Cole studied the impact of summer on rural businesses in his first agriscience research project. Cole’s interest in agricultural business from his first project led him to explore the marketing side of the industry, where he discovered that consumers prefer to have a window to view the product in food packaging. Most recently Cole conducted a research project with a fellow FFA member, where they analyzed whether the placement of green filter strips on both sides of a prototype bridge would reduce run-off of pollutants. The results showed that run-off was reduced by 14.89% through this solution. Cole received two, 5th place golds at the National Convention for his most recent Agriscience Fair projects.

In the future, Cole will be attending the University of Wisconsin – Madison to become a pharmacist.
