Plymouth FFA Wins State Agricultural Technology and Mechanical Systems Contest

June 13, 2023 CDE

The Plymouth FFA Chapter was named the state winning Agricultural Technology and Mechanical Systems Career Development Event Team. Team members include Jake Bins, Jake Miller, Brandon Schultz and Joseph Mugan. Their advisors are Tracy Heinbuch and Katelynn Sibley. Joey Robinson from the Mineral Point FFA was named the top individual. His advisor is Michael Robinson.

The event is built around students learning and executing a “systems approach” – or the process of understanding how solving one problem influences others.

Plymouth will now represent Wisconsin FFA in competition at the National FFA Career Development Events to be held in November in Indianapolis, Indiana during the 96th National FFA Convention. The Agricultural Technology and Mechanical Systems Contest is sponsored on the state level by CNH Industrial Capital. The National sponsors are Association of Equipment Manufacturers, Caterpillar, Darling Ingredients Inc., Firestone Ag, Lincoln Electric and U.S. Poultry & Egg Association.

Through the Agricultural Technology and Mechanical Systems Contest, students develop technical knowledge and an ability to work with others to solve complex problems. All Career Development Events engage students in developing their communication, decision-making, and teamwork skills to promote future career success.
