Joey Robinson of the Mineral Point FFA is a Wisconsin Star Farmer finalist.
Joey raises beef, sheep, and goats on his family’s farm for a variety of purposes including market, breeding and showing. When Joey first started, his parents guided him in all decisions, especially in regard to feeding, selling, clipping, and showing. Now, Joey is in charge of his family’s animal health practices including trimming hooves, vaccinating, and treating sick animals. Additionally, Joey is able to manage his livestock on his own, and uses his expertise in the field to bring him success. Joey was even named the premier goat exhibitor in 2018 and 2019 at the Wisconsin State Fair. Joey is able to pass his knowledge of livestock on to other exhibitors by selling his youngstock and mentoring other youth.
This fall, Joey will be attending Lake Land College’s John Deere Technician Program to receive his Associate of Applied Science degree. Joey also hopes to one day have his own farm.
Joey’s parents are Mike and Amy Robinson. His advisor is Mike Robinson
