Joey Robinson of the Mineral Point FFA is a Wisconsin Star in Agricultural Placement finalist.
Joey’s passion for mechanics first started when he bought his grandpa’s 1953 John Deere model 50, which was not running. He was able to diagnose the problems of the tractor, and was able to return it to tip top shape. This project led Joey to his job at DJ Enterprises, a mechanics shop that specializes in pre-emission John Deere tractors. At DJ Enterprises, Joey assists with disassembling engines, installing simple parts, and preparing tractors for transmission or clutch work. With the skills Joey has learned at his job, he is able to service the tractors on his family’s farm as well. In addition to his job as a mechanic, Joey works at A&M Farms and Military Ridge Veterinary Clinic.
Joey will be attending Lake Land College’s John Deere Technician Program to receive his Associate of Applied Science degree. After graduating in May 2025, Joey will be employed by Prairie State Tractor in Freeport, Illinois.
Joey’s parents are Mike and Amy Robinson. His advisor is Mike Robinson.
